The Large Asticou planter is a scaled-up reproduction of a vessel once made by Eric Soderholtz in the early 1900's. The Azalea Asticou Garden in Northeast Harbor, Maine has a reproduction of an original planter, complete with a stamped 'egg & dart' surface patterning. The original European design on which this planter was modeled is unknown.
